Anniston Sims

My name is Anniston Sims, a first‑year FYCS major at the University of Florida. Growing up near campus in Newberry, I have long been part of the Gator community. Initially a sociology major, I found the discipline intellectually rewarding but felt it lacked the practical applicability I sought for a prospective legal career. After learning more about FYCS, I recognized it as the ideal blend of sociological insight and tangible skills necessary for effective legal practice. I intend to pursue a minor once I have completed the core requirements. Ultimately, I aim to become an attorney, and I believe the interdisciplinary perspective offered by FYCS, highlighting how family dynamics and community connections shape individuals, will be invaluable regardless of the specific area of law I choose to specialize in. This portfolio includes current accomplishments, involvement, and future goals.
